Jeremy Swayman, who struggled early in the season after signing an eight-year, $66 million contract, has found his form, blocking 27 shots to Joey Daccord's 15. Two key factors led to the Kraken's shutout: relentless penalties and the Bruins' superior firepower.

The Bruins struck first as Justin Brazeau scored and fired shot after shot at Daccord. When Brandon Montour crosschecked David Pastrnak, Charlie Coyle took advantage of the power play and doubled Boston's lead.

Seattle caught a break when officials ruled out Pavel Zacha's goal after a foul by head coach Dan Bylsma. Still, the Kraken continued to stumble as Jordan Eberle hooked Brazeau and Ryker Evans pinned Andrew Peeke. With just 3:27 left, Seattle finally got its first shot on goal. The Bruins, ranked 19th in penalty kills, ended the Kraken's chances when Peeke was called out for bringing down Matty Beniers. The period ended dismally, with Seattle managing just four shots compared to Boston's 15.

Nothing improved for Seattle in the second third. The Kraken continued to struggle with urgency, managing just eight shots on goal compared to Boston's 30. Seattle continued to receive penalties, firstly Adam Larsson for interference on Parker Wotherspoon and Oliver Bjorkstrand for a high stick attack on Matthew Poitras. The Bruins had another effective penalty kill and killed the Kraken's power play opportunity after Mark Kastelic was called for high sticking on Brandon Montour.

There was a lot of excitement in the third period following Adam Larsson's hit on Trent Frederic, which resulted in penalties for both players: Frederic received a five-minute penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct, while Larsson received a two-minute penalty for fighting. Despite the power play, the Kraken failed to find the net as frustration boiled over between Brandon Montour and the former Kraken Morgan Geekie, who exchanged blows near the Seattle goal.

Joey Daccord was named the game's third star as he withstood the Bruins' constant pressure. First and second stars went to Swayman and Coyle of Boston.

The Kraken will wrap up this leg of their road trip Tuesday night with a stop in Colorado to face the Avalanche. Puck drop is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. PST.
