The latest episode of Saturday Night Live featured a hilarious parody of the former Spanish-language game show Sabado Gigante, in which a tourist who doesn't speak the language is called onto the stage.

SNLThis week's host, comedian Nate Bargatze, played the frightened man who said, “I don't know what this all means. I think I'm having a panic attack.” No matter how nervous or freaked out he may be, the host – actor Marcello Hernández in the role of Chilean television star Don Francisco – continues to delight, smile broadly or do something unexpected, like saying puts a hat decorated like a football field on his head. The tourist knows he is the butt of the joke, but he is trapped on live television.

Turns out the actual TV legend noticed and was a fan.

He thanked both the sketch show and Hernández for remembering the popular variety series, which aired from 1962 to 2015, on social media.

“Thank you SNL for bringing back memories of us Sabado Gigantewhich was not only a great television show, but was also very important as a gathering place for the family and our Hispanic community,” Francisco wrote on social media. “Thanks to the public, we closed our story almost 10 years ago, but we still feel the affection and respect for what we were able to build together.”

How Sabado GiganteCreated by Lorne Michaels and becoming a television staple, the series has had a long run and premiered its 50th season on September 28th Hacks Actress Jean Smart moderates.

Ariana Grande will host the October 12 episode, while legendary singer Stevie Nicks will provide the tunes.
