“Romulus” is now available to stream – here’s how to watch the blockbuster thriller at home

Alien Romulus is now available on digital platforms such as Amazon Prime Video and AppleTV+, two months after its theatrical release. If you are preparing for one Foreigner Movie marathon, read on to find out how to watch it Alien Romulus just in time for the spooky season.

The science fiction thriller is the ninth part of the series Foreigner franchise and the anticipated 2017 sequel Alien: Covenant. “While searching the depths of an abandoned space station, a group of young space colonists encounter the most terrifying life form in the universe,” the synopsis reads. The film stars Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, Spike Fearn and Aileen Wu.

Director Fede Álvarez told IndieWire The Romulus is an homage and departure from the films of Ridley Scott and James Cameron. “Ultimately I hope it's kind of the rebellious child of those first two films,” he explained. “You kind of look like your parents, but you don’t want to look like your parents. You want to be your own man. That’s kind of the spirit of the film.”

Alien: Romulus had a successful box office performance, according to Box Office Mojo, grossing $349 million worldwide, including $105 million in domestic sales. That makes Romulus the second largest film in the series (adjusted for inflation), behind it Prometheus (2012). The sequel is also the highest-grossing IMAX horror film of all time at the global box office.

Alien: Romulus is now available to stream on digital video-on-demand sites such as Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+ and Fandango At Home. You can buy Alien: Romulus for $29.99 or rent the film for $24.99 (for 48 hours).

When will Alien: Romulus Stream on Disney+ and Hulu?

Alien: Romulusproduced by Disney's 20th Century Studios, will eventually land on Hulu and Disney+. Although a streaming release date has not yet been set, the film will likely arrive on Hulu and Disney+ approximately three months after its theatrical debut – or around November 16th.

For example, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes debuted on Hulu and Disney+ on August 2nd, just 84 days (less than three months) after its theatrical premiere on May 10th, 2024.

Watch at some point Alien: Romulus With Disney+, viewers must take out a subscription to the streaming platform. Plans start at $7.99 per month for the basic option (with advertising).
