Manchester City and Spain international superstar Rodri has arrived in Paris ahead of the Ballon d'Or ceremony in the French capital on Monday evening.

The 28-year-old is widely considered the outstanding favorite to win the Ballon d'Or in Paris on Monday night after another exemplary individual performance for both club and country in all competitions.

After playing a key role in helping Manchester City win their fourth consecutive Premier League title last season, Rodri added to their success by performing at the highest level for his country.

Over the summer months, Rodri played a crucial role in Luis de la Fuente's Spanish team winning the European Championship, defeating all of Germany, France and England in the final.

In recognition of his outstanding performances on the European stage, Rodri was also named Euro 2024 Player of the Tournament, further increasing his chances of becoming the first Ballon d'Or winner in defensive midfield since Lothar Matthäus.

And alongside representatives and other Manchester City nominees, Rodri has now arrived in Paris on a day when there is a growing feeling that he will emerge victorious from football's biggest individual award.

As recorded by Arancha Rodriguez, who was on hand at the Tiempo de Juego in Paris, Manchester City's Rodri has arrived at his hotel to prepare for Monday night's Ballon d'Or ceremony alongside other members of the Premier League champions' delegation .

As Fabrizio Romano reports, Brazilian Vinicius Jr. will not travel to Paris on Monday as both he and Real Madrid now know he will not win the Ballon d'Or for 2024 and no one from the La Liga giants will be at the ceremony arrives.

Those who will not be attending the ceremony include Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez, coach Carlo Ancelotti, star England midfielder Jude Bellingham and of course Vinicius Jr.

On the Real Madrid side, a report from Mario Cortegana of The Athletic states that the La Liga giants expect Manchester City's Rodri to be announced as the Ballon d'Or winner on Monday evening.

Commenting on his nomination for the award earlier this year, Rodri said: “It’s great to be involved with these players. It's great that people appreciate your performance and talent.

“For me, what people say about me, the recognition I have, is already a victory. Individual awards are not what drives me. It is a consequence of work. But I think it would be great for my country.”

The Manchester City midfielder continued: “We have just won (the European Championships), we have some of the best players of all time and the best football. It would be good – not just for me, I would say for every Spanish player – for the country.”
