Real Madrid showed Champions League magic again on Tuesday, overcoming a 2-0 half-time deficit to beat Borussia Dortmund 5-2 and get their European campaign back on track.

Vinicius Jr. was Los Blancos' star that night, scoring the second, fourth and fifth goals, but it was Lucas Vazquez's go-ahead goal that will go down as a lasting feature of that memorable evening.

Dortmund took the lead after a back-and-forth affair in the first 30 minutes. Serge Guirassy slid the ball to Donyell Malen, who fired it past the helpless Thibaut Courtois into the goal. Four minutes later, Jamie Gittens added the second goal by sneaking in at the back post and deflecting Malen's cross.

Madrid responded with a short attack that managed remarkably well to miss the target. Jude Bellingham missed a golden chance and then fired a shot onto the crossbar. Rodrygo also hit the woodwork before Gregor Kobel made a full-length save to stop a deflected ball from sneaking in.

Madrid inevitably woke up after the break. A more cautious approach from Nuri Sahin invited pressure from the home side and a purring front ensured success. Toni Rüdiger scored the first goal – heading Kylian Mbappé's cross home before Vinicius buried the equalizer less than two minutes later.

Everything else felt inevitable after that. Vazquez scored the third goal before Vinicius scored two more incredible goals to complete his hat-trick and secure another memorable Champions League victory.
