“Rainbow Warriors resume long-standing rivalry with Fresno State”

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i football team resumes its long-standing rivalry with Fresno State for a Mountain West game on Saturday, November 2, at Valley Children's Stadium in Fresno, California. The teams had met each other for 31 consecutive seasons until last season. The Rainbow Warriors (3-5, 1-2 MW) earned a 34-13 win over Nevada last week in Honolulu, while the Bulldogs (5-3, 3-1) picked up their second win in 2019 after a 33-10 victory San Jose State won in Fresno.

GAME STORIES

  • Saturday's duel will be the 56th meeting between the schools ever. Fresno State is UH's oldest rival. The Bulldogs lead the series 30-24-1.
  • The teams met for 31 straight seasons from 1992 to 2022 – all as conference members – before the series was canceled last year.

  • Fresno State (5-3, 3-1) improved to 3-1 in conference play after a decisive 33-10 win over San Jose State last week in Fresno, California. The Bulldogs scored 33 unanswered points and former Rainbow Warrior defenseman Cam Lockridge had two interceptions and was named MW Defensive Player of the Week.
  • UH is 1-14 on the road under head coach Timmy Changincluding 0-3 this season.
  • UH has allowed an average of 15.6 points in five home games this season, compared to 33.3 points in three away contests.
