Quinton Byfield is scheduled to play in the big game against the Ottawa Senators on Monday

The Ottawa Senators had high hopes entering this season that their past defensive woes would be solved with the signing of former Vezina Trophy winner Linus Ullmark. That worked in the first game of the season against the Florida Panthers, where they only held off the reigning Stanley Cup champions by one goal, but then conceded four goals in the second game against a young, top-class Habs offense.

It's hard to say what to expect from this Senators team as they played two very different games defensively. The LA Kings, on the other hand, have established themselves as a defensive-minded team after posting the third-best goals against average last season (2.56), trailing only the Jets and Panthers.

This could be a very low scoring game, but if the Kings are actually on the field, it should be with the help of Quinton Byfield.

Bet: Quinton Byfield over 0.5 points (+110)

The Kings' 2020 first-round pick has begun to make his way to the NHL after finishing last season with 20 goals and 35 assists for 55 points. He has two points in as many games so far this season and heads into a favorable matchup against Ottawa. In two career games against the Senators, Byfield has points with a goal and an assist in both games.

Ullmark will be in net, which makes things difficult, but the Kings have won six of their last seven games against Ottawa, scoring three or more goals in five of the six wins.

Ullmark has also lost three straight games to the Kings, with each game going to overtime. It should be a close game, but Byfield should be on the field. A $10 bet would result in $21 if Byfield gets a point.
