It's been another forgettable season for the Chicago Fire, who have managed just seven wins in 33 games and will finish the season with at least seven points fewer than last season.

Although the playoffs are out of reach, the Fire's only main incentive to win this game will be that they avoid finishing the season in last place in the Eastern Conference and could move up two spots if New England plays on the road Loses against Inter Miami.

However, Chicago comes into this game on a four-game winning streak, including a draw and three defeats, while they have managed just one win in their last 11 games in all competitions.

In their last game they suffered a bitter defeat against Charlotte, where they finished the game by far the better team, scoring two goals in the last 20 minutes, but still ended up on the wrong side of the game with a 4-3 scoreline.

For Chicago, it's now all about preparing for next season, and they've already taken the first steps to do so, with this game being the first one they're responsible for Gregg Berhalterwho was appointed the team's director of football and head coach during the international break.

Meanwhile, Nashville's 2024 season will go down as the worst in history as they will miss the postseason for the first time since officially joining MLS in 2020.

The Coyotes have just eight wins this season, along with nine draws and 16 losses, and another loss here could see them finish in last place in the East as they currently have a -19 goal difference with the Fire.

If they avoid defeat they are likely to stay in 13th place, but their away record doesn't inspire too much confidence as they have lost seven of their last eight league games away from home, with a 2-0 win over Atlanta Untied last month being their only points that they earned during this time.

The biggest problem for the Boys in Gold in 2024 has undoubtedly been their lack of attacking production, as they have only scored 35 goals so far, which is the lowest total in all of MLS this year.

Despite it, BJ CallaghanYou can't completely write off the team here, as they defeated this opponent 1-0 last month and have only lost once in their last six meetings against the Fire (3 wins, 2 draws, 1 loss).

We say: Chicago Fire 2:1 Nashville SC

While Nashville only needs a draw to ensure they don't finish in last place in the Eastern Conference this season, Chicago has avoided defeat in its last two home games, including a 2-1 win over the Red Bulls, and We believe that the hosts will perhaps be able to manage another big performance before the reconstruction begins for next semester.
