Pistons young guard shows off electrifying dunks against 76ers

Jaden Ivey and the Detroit Pistons got their first win in style.

During a game on Wednesday night against the Philadelphia 76ers, Ivey had another productive evening in the scoring department. As the young guard shined alongside backcourt mate Cade Cunningham, Ivey scored some of his points by throwing down dunks that went viral on social media.

Ivey and the Pistons were a team on a mission Wednesday night. Although they have fought hard in every match so far, it was clear that Wednesday's game might have meant a little more for several reasons.

First, it was Tobias Harris' first game back in Philadelphia since joining the Pistons in the summer. With Harris being Detroit's veteran leader, the young group wanted to help their forward overcome the hostile crowd and secure a victory in their home.

Second, the Pistons needed to get in the win column. Before Wednesday's game, they held a record of 0-4. After a 14-68 season, Detroit entered the 2024-2025 season with hopes of turning things around. They looked and felt better at the start of the year, but the record didn't suggest that. There was clearly motivation to turn things around this week.

Next up, Ivey and the Pistons take on the New York Knicks at home on Friday night. In their first four games of the new season, the Knicks posted a record of 2-2. It won't be an easy fight for Detroit, but they've proven themselves to be pretty battle-tested so early on. Friday's game begins at 7:00 p.m. ET.
