Penn State learns start time and sends information for Week 9 road trip to Wisconsin

Penn State will have its second primetime opener of the season following the bye week.

The Nittany Lions begin Week 9 at 7:30 p.m. EST at Camp Randall Stadium in Wisconsin. The game will be broadcast on NBC.

For Penn State it is the second night kickoff this season in which the Lions destroyed the then number 1 team. 19 Illinois 21-7 at Beaver Stadium.

Wisconsin should be a tough opponent in just under two weeks, as the Badgers are 4-2 this season with their only losses coming against the current No. 1 seed. 7 Alabama at home and USC on the road. They lost starting quarterback Tyler Van Dyke for the season after he suffered an injury against Alabama, but Braedyn Locke has led them to back-to-back losses against Purdue and Rutgers. Wisconsin plays 3-3 Northwestern this weekend.

Penn State moved to No. 3 in the AP poll this week after a thrilling 33-30 overtime win at USC. The Lions are 6-0 and are on the road so far with a much-needed week off to get healthy and address some deficiencies.

The last time Penn State and Wisconsin met was in 2021, a hard-fought 16-10 road win by the Nittany Lions. Safety Jaquan Brisker had a game-winning interception in the fourth quarter, while other star safety Ji'Ayir Brown had an interception of his own. Defensive end Arnold Ebiketie blocked a field goal in his Penn State debut after transferring from Temple.
