Paul George left the 76ers-Hawks preseason game with an injury

As the Philadelphia 76ers took on the Atlanta Hawks in a preseason game on Monday night, the Sixers saw their star forward Paul George suffer a lower-body injury.

After George left the game in the second quarter, he did not return for the remainder of the match.

Midway through the fourth quarter, the Sixers confirmed that the All-Star had suffered a setback.

Accordingly The investigator's Gina Mizell, George is struggling with hyperextension of his left knee. The severity of the injury is currently unknown.

Monday's game was George's second preseason appearance with the team. Last week, George made his Sixers debut in Iowa in the team's preseason game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

After three quarters of play, George went 8-for-15 from the field and scored 23 points. His 26-minute shift was a promising sight for the 76ers, who invested heavily in the former LA Clippers All-Star this past offseason.

On Saturday, the Sixers returned to the court for the second leg of a back-to-back set. Like most of the team's veterans, George had the evening off to rest. He returned to court in Atlanta on Monday.

George left the pitch after appearing after 12 minutes. He shot 3-for-5 from the field and failed on his only three-point attempt. He finished his night with eight points, two rebounds, one assist and one steal.

The Sixers are scheduled to return to the court on Wednesday night to take on the Brooklyn Nets. George's playing status for the matchup is currently unclear.
