With both teams already coming off a loss heading into Saturday's showdown in Knoxville, it's clear that the Week 8 game between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Tennessee Volunteers will be a huge game for both teams, especially when it comes to whether whether it ultimately reaches the College Football Playoff or not.

That sentiment was also echoed by numerous analysts across college football throughout the week, most recently by Paul Finebaum on Friday morning, who was commentating on the game as part of ESPN's “Get Up.”

“I think the loser of this game is in really big trouble. Let's say Tennessee loses. They no longer have an impressive win because they beat Oklahoma, and that didn't amount to anything. NC State, they have nothing to offer.” They're going to be in trouble in November and I can't see them coming in with a loss against LSU. The loser of this game is in trouble.

Additionally, host Mike Greenberg asked Finebaum how fans would react if Alabama lost to Tennessee on Saturday, and the ESPN host added:

“Terrible. I was in Alabama for two days this week and the Bama fans are already beside themselves. They don't call him Kalen DeBoer, they stop me at the airport and say what's wrong with this guy. There is a serious rescue operation going on.” about the new guy who was on top of the world just a few weeks ago.

Alabama and Tennessee meet on Saturday, October 19th at 3:30 p.m. ET. The game will be available on ABC from Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tennessee.
