Pat McAfee always tells it like it is. Today, in a post on his X account, which has 3.1 million followers, he said he was looking for one or more NBA experts to join the show. He said he expected his partnership with the network would produce someone or more who could fill that role because of the long list of contributors to ESPN's NBA coverage. However, that is apparently easier said than done.

“I need one or more NBA experts on the program…not every day…just someone to FaceTime regularly during the season,” McAfee wrote. “I will pay because I pay everyone for their contribution to our show. When we licensed our show through ESPN, we obviously thought it would be easy to get NBA people from the ESPN roster. That wasn't the case. The ESPN NBA crew was difficult to work with due to the daily schedule during the season… afternoons are HARD for the entire group.”

McAfee then asked his fans to suggest a former player who could take on the role. He wrote: “Sooooo… Which ex-NBA players do you think would make a great representative of the association on our bullshit show?” Thanks again. Cheers.”

At the time of writing, McAfee's post had nearly 250,000 views and more than 1,000 people had responded. Many point to some of the NBA's great characters like Dennis Rodman and Ron Artest and others who have thrown their own names into the hat.

ESPN recently released a press release naming its entire roster for NBA coverage. The list included more than two dozen names, including many former NBA players.
