Kyle Schwarber is ready for ESPN College GameDay at Indiana University.

Schwarber, a two-time All-Star and All-American catcher during his college career at Indiana, will serve as a guest player Saturday when GameDay comes to Bloomington when the Indiana football team hosts Washington. The Philadelphia Phillies outfielder and designated hitter was a guest on The Pat McAfee Show on Friday.

“In my opinion, there is no better college town or college campus than Indiana. … This place is phenomenal,” Schwarber said.

IU football news: Indiana is “the talk of the country.” Who saw this coming? Curt Cignetti did.

While at IU, Schwarber was a standout player on the 2013 College World Series team. He hit 39 home runs in three seasons and was the anchor of lineups that won consecutive Big Ten regular season and tournament championships.

“You look at the people behind it and you look at the athletic department, everything like that. It's great,” Schwarber said. “Then you also see the fans. Looking at last week and how loud it was last week, I can't wait for this week. I can’t wait until tomorrow.”
