Pamela Andersonthe iconic Baywatch star, is experiencing a career renaissance at the age of 57: after her Broadway debut in 2022 and the publication of her memoirs in 2023, she is now generating Oscar buzz for best actress for her performance in Gia Coppola'S The Last Showgirl.

In recognition of Anderson's acclaimed portrayal of a veteran Vegas showgirl facing an uncertain future after the sudden end of the show on which she appeared for 30 years, she received a Gotham Award nomination for best actress on Tuesday. And on Thursday, Miami Dade College's GEMS event of the Miami Film Festival announced it will receive the Art of Light Acting Award this year.

The award will be presented on Sunday, November 3rd, following a screening of “ The Last Showgirl and a question-and-answer session with Anderson and Coppola, moderated by you.

The Art of Light Award is given to film artists “whose exemplary work sheds new wonders on the continued development of cinema.” Previous recipients of the award include: Alison Brie, Raul Castillo, Andra day And Michael Showalter.
