Pacers Tyrese Haliburton blames Stephen Curry for poor shooting night

DETROIT (AP) — Tyrese Haliburton said he believes some of the blame for his 1-of-9 3-point shooting performance in the Pacers' 115-109 win over the Pistons should go to the best 3-point shooter in NBA history.

Haliburton spent a lot of time talking with Stephen Curry while they were with Team USA for the Olympics this summer, and Haliburton picked out everything he could, including pre-game routines. Haliburton followed Curry's advice to sleep before the game on Wednesday and said he would never repeat that again.

“Honestly, I’ll probably blame Steph,” Haliburton said jokingly. “Because he convinced me to take a nap before the game because I told him I didn't nap and he told me to try it and text him after the game and see the result . So he'll get a text from me.” Soon, there will be no more pregame naps for Tyrese.

Haliburton still finished the game with 15 points on 6 of 18 shooting to go, with four assists, five rebounds, three steals and two blocks. His only 3-pointer was crucial, a 25-footer with 21 seconds left that gave the Pacers a 113-107 lead and effectively tied the game, but he would have preferred not to miss his first eight.
