Over 53% of registered voters in Fort Bend County cast their ballots during early voting

Nearly 300,000 voters in Fort Bend County cast their ballots in person during early voting October 21 through November. 1, show circle data.

What residents need to know

Fort Bend County data shows that as of Nov. 1, 297,649 ballots have been cast for the Nov. 5 general election, representing over 53% of the county's 555,569 registered voters.

This figure is lower than the 62% of voters who cast ballots at the start of the 2020 general election; However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, six additional days were set aside for early voting, according to the Texas Secretary of State's website. In the 2020 election, 73.65% of the county's registered voters cast ballots throughout the election season.

What else?

According to the county, over 10,000 ballots were cast at 11 polling locations in Fort Bend County during the early voting period. The top five polling locations included:

  • 23,734 at the Cinco Ranch Branch Library in Katy
  • 17,621 at the Four Corners Community Center in Sugar Land
  • 15,080 at the Sienna Annex in Missouri City
  • 14,518 at James Bowie Middle School in Richmond
  • 13,669 at the Sugar Land Branch Library in Sugar Land
