    How far are you willing to go to protect your loved ones when bloody zombies – spookily saying the words their humans once said – gather outside your home? Director: Carlo Ledesma (The tunnel), the zombie horror film Outside tells the story of a family of four in the Philippines trying to survive an undead outbreak that is plaguing the country. But the longer they hide in an abandoned house, the more threats come from within instead of without. The first-ever Filipino zombie film starring Sid Lucero, Beauty Gonzalez and Marco Masa was co-written by Ledesma and Anton Santamaria (The tunnel).

    “More than anything else, Outside is a story about family,” Ledesma told Netflix about the film. “It’s about how a family can fall apart, and it plays to my worst fears as a father.”

    What happens in Outside?

    A zombie pandemic forces Francis Abel (Lucero); his wife Iris (Gonzalez); and their two children Joshua (Masa) and Lucas (Patdu) head to the countryside in search of safety. They move into a run-down house that brings back traumatic memories for Francis – it was his family homestead, where he experienced unspeakable horrors as a child. Now Francis is determined to ensure the safety of his wife and sons, no matter the cost. But as time goes on, Francis' complicated relationship with Iris becomes increasingly strained and his paranoid behavior threatens to put his family in grave danger.
