One Direction fans are permanently honoring Liam Payne following his tragic death at the age of 31.

Many people have gotten a five-arrow tattoo to match the one Payne had on his own arm because the time “feels right,” according to the Daily Mail.

The five arrows represent the five members of the boy band: Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Payne. The late singer had a tattoo of four arrows on the back of his arm, believed to represent the four other members of the group.

Although this particular design has been popular among One Direction fans for a decade, TikTok users are sharing a new version: adding angel wings.

The wings appear to be drawn under the arrow representing Payne.

One fan, Chani, opted for a colorful version of the arrows.

She wrote on social media: “I've finally taken the step to get my One Direction tattoo but in the saddest way – for Liam Payne.”

“I always imagined it would be a happier moment, not under these circumstances. I would have chosen a different time and a different reason, but now it feels right,” she continued. “I am proud to have overcome the pain and expense to honor Liam in this way. These tattoos will help me process my grief and keep his memory alive.”

Another user shared that they “finally got the tattoo” they've been wanting for a long time, albeit with added angel wings as a tribute to the “Strip That Down” artist.

One Direction formed on The X Factor in 2010 and released four albums. They disbanded in 2015 after Malik left the band in March of that year.

On Saturday, Payne's sister Ruth Gibbins apologized for her failure to “save” him in a heartbreaking tribute on social media.

“I don’t think this is happening,” she began on Instagram. “No one could ever make me laugh as hard as him, doing his impressions always made me laugh and he loved seeing how much laughter he could get.”

Gibbins also shared some of her fondest memories with Payne, including picking her up after One Direction concerts and drinking tea together after work.

“When it all started, I loved picking him up from work, especially after concerts, to take us away from venues or gigs, while Liam would plug in his phone to show me the new songs for albums,” she remembers. “Liam loved 1D, he loved his brothers and we talked about it so much. He just played song after song that had been recorded but never used, and we sat there and did a mini 1D concert.”

Gibbins added Payne's personal struggles over the years, noting, “I don't feel like this world has been good enough or kind enough to you, and in the last few years you've often had to really push yourself to overcome all of that.” “was aimed at you.”

“You just wanted to be loved and make people happy with your music. You never believed you were good enough. I hope you can now see that stream of love that you never received in your time.”

Gibbons promised to “take care” of Payne's 7-year-old son Bear, whom he shared with his ex Cheryl Cole.

“He will always know how incredible his dad is and how much you adore him,” she wrote. “I'm sorry I couldn't save you. I love you, oh how my heart misses you.”

Payne fell to his death from the third floor of his hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Wednesday.

Medical officials confirmed that the star suffered a “fractured skull and extremely serious injuries which resulted in his immediate death.” Witnesses told TMZ that Payne was acting “erratically” before his sudden death. He allegedly smashed his laptop in the hotel lobby and was carried back to his room before the fall.
