Notre Dame Football: Fighting Irish will open the 2025 season in Miami

There have been two spots available on Notre Dame Football's 2025 schedule for some time, but it has finally been revealed that the Miami Hurricanes are one of the pieces of the schedule puzzle.

Miami hosts Notre Dame at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, on a date to be determined over Labor Day weekend, meaning the game will take place on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Labor Day Monday (April 28). August – September) can take place 1).

The Miami-Notre Dame game is part of the ACC's agreement for its member schools to play Notre Dame every season. Miami and Notre Dame are also scheduled to meet in South Bend, Indiana, in 2026, 2028, 2031 and 2037, and in Miami in 2032 and 2034.

We still don't have an official/unofficial answer as to what might happen with the annual Notre Dame-Stanford game now that the Cardinals are a member of the ACC. It looks like they'll now be one of the ACC schools in the Irish rotation – but maybe not.

After a 2024 season with two MAC schools and two service academies, the Irish have 10 Power 4 schools on the schedule for 2025, with the Boise State Broncos and Navy Midshipmen the only schools from the Group of Five.

There is currently no game on the schedule listed as a Shamrock Series game at a neutral site, but they wouldn't have to announce one until the spring anyway (best guess is Syracuse Orange, if there is one).

The record is: 2 SEC, 2 Big Ten, 5 ACC, 1 MWC, 1 AAC. I'm pretty confident the Irish will look for another opponent in the Group of Five, but Stanford is still there so don't rule that out either.

So… back to the return of the horror show 2017. Cool.
