Netflix will add what could be the most controversial film of the year in November.

The streaming service has another busy month ahead of it. In addition to the sad removal of major titles, there will be the release of high-profile films and television shows ranging from animated films Bannedthe next batch of Outer Banks episodes – not to mention more Cobra Kaithe acclaimed spin-off of Karate Kid.

But it is Emilia Perez This will soon be on everyone's lips. The film is a crime musical drama directed by French filmmaker Jacques Audiard and starring Zoe Saldana, Selena Gomez and Karla Sofía Gascón.

The film's plot has to be seen to be believed – and for that reason we won't divulge any details here. But the film, set in Mexico, follows a lawyer Rita who receives an unexpected offer from a fearsome cartel boss.

After its premiere at Cannes, the film received an enthusiastic nine-minute standing ovation – but critics weren't as sure about the final result as audiences; Emilia Perez has received both five-star reviews and one-star reviews.

Many critics agreed that Audiard somehow managed to pull it off, although the film's daring mix of genres should make it “a complete mess.” Some others, including The film stageThey called it the “worst film” of the year. Below is the full list of everything new coming to Netflix in November.
