The New England Patriots haven't had much to celebrate since the first few games today against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

After taking a 10-0 lead to start the game and seeing Drake Maye lead the team for a touchdown right away, the Patriots completely fell apart. They are currently down 20% in the fourth quarter

Unfortunately, they also saw one of their top wide receivers sidelined due to illness.

Accordingly NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, Wide receiver DeMario Douglas is questionable whether he will return to the game today due to illness.

He reportedly woke up sick this morning and has taken both anti-nausea medication and an IV. He tried again and again to get through the illness, but it obviously affected him.

This is of course much better than an injury. However, it is definitely a disappointment that he was not 100 percent fit for today's game.

If current trends continue, the Patriots will fall to 1-6 this season. They'll take another step toward the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, which wouldn't be the worst thing in the world for the team's long-term picture.

Maye looked solid again today for New England. To this point in the game, he has completed 15 of his 22 pass attempts for 120 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions. He also racked up 17 yards on the ground.

Sure he didn't play the best game, but he played relatively error-free football. The fact that his main target wasn't at full health had a significant impact on the offense.

Defensively, the team struggled to stop Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars. This will likely result in another loss unless something material changes later in the fourth quarter.

Apart from that, Douglas should be fully healthy again next week. That shouldn't stop him from getting through this game.

UPDATE: DeMario Douglas was able to get back into the game in the fourth quarter.
