Charlotte Hornets' 23-year-old star point guard LaMelo Ball was so scared by a mechanical Halloween clown that he cut his head off.

Released footage of Ball's reaction went viral on social media as the NBA star was the subject of jokes for his low anxiety tolerance.

Ball is singing as he walks through a door after practice Thursday at the Spectrum Center when a hidden mechanical clown begins moving his arms, causing Ball to jump up and scream.

In response, he hit the clown on the head.

As he begins to walk up the stairs, Ball lunges and slaps the clown again, ripping his head completely from his body.

Then Ball starts laughing as he climbs the stairs and says, “Boy, no, it's too early for that.” Ball and a team member walking behind him continue to laugh, and the point guard ends up jokingly falling to the ground on the stairs , holds his chest and says: “Feel my heart!”

Fans mocked the young Hornets star on social media.

One user used the clip to poke fun not only at Ball, but also at his eccentric father LaVar Ball, who became synonymous with headline-grabbing statements and the sports brand in the NBA careers of his three sons, LaMelo, Lonzo and LiAngelo intervened. Big Baller brand.

One user used the video to point out Ball's extensive injury history.

Ball is averaging 28.5 points, six rebounds and seven assists on 43.9% shooting for the Hornets. He had 19 points and six assists in Charlotte's 138-133 win on Wednesday against the Toronto Raptors.

The Hornets play the Boston Celtics on Friday evening.
