NBA Best Bets Today (Predictions, Prop Bets for Nikola Jokic, Brandon Miller, Celtics

Every NBA team is in action on Monday, giving NBA bettors plenty of opportunities to bet on the action.

I've done my best to narrow down the top picks for Monday's action, as there will be an off day for Election Day on Tuesday before all 30 teams return to action on Wednesday.

So let's break down the tips for a huge Monday night list:

Karl-Anthony Towns OVER 1.5 3-pointers manufactured (-130) – 0.5 units

New York Knicks big man Karl-Anthony Towns got off to a slow start in terms of his 3-point attempts (just 2.0 per game in his first three games), but he has made progress since then.

In his last two games, KAT has shot 7-for-11 from downtown (he's at 64.7 percent this season) and has attempted at least five three-pointers in consecutive games.

Now he faces a Houston team that is allowing its opponents to hit 37.4 percent from 3rd to 21st in the NBA.

As long as KAT is willing to take some shots from deep, he's in the right place to go OVER. He has mastered this prop in three of five games, including a game in which he made it 2-2 from distance.

Brandon Miller OVER 16.5 points (-110) – 0.5 units

Brandon Miller returned to the lineup Saturday against Boston, playing 31 minutes and scoring 16 points — despite shooting just 6 of 18 from the field.

Miller will play Monday with the Minnesota Timberwolves, who are ranked 18th in the NBA in defensive rating.

Given Miller's effort (18 shots in 31 minutes), it's hard to leave him out at such a low number after he averaged 17.3 points per game as a rookie. Charlotte has been buoyant to start this season and there's a chance the Hornets will face the Wolves without Rudy Gobert (questionable) under center.

Nikola Jokic OVER 11.5 rebounds (-115) – 0.5 units

Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic plays his second game Monday with the Toronto Raptors, a team against which he scored 40 points and 10 rebounds in an overtime win last week.

Jokic is averaging 12.3 rebounds per game, but he has seen plenty of rebound opportunities (22.8) per game.

Toronto enters this game with the best rebounding percentage in the NBA, but Jokic's rebounding percentage has been 12.5 or 13.5 almost exclusively this season. Catching him with 11.5 — after a game with 16 rebounds — is worth a shot on Monday.

Warriors-Celtics-Thunder ML Parlay (-162)

Golden State Warriors

Washington may have two wins this season, but beating the Atlanta Hawks isn't something that gets me excited for the Wizards in this game.

Washington has dropped a total of 59 points in its three other games – at home against Miami, at home against Cleveland and at home against Boston.

So I'm far from sold on the Wizards, who haven't lost a game by less than 19 points, and get the 10 points against Golden State tonight, especially with Steph Curry (ankle, upgraded to questionable) returning to the lineup.

Golden State's defense could be the difference in this game, especially with Kyle Kuzma out, as they rank 2nd in defensive rating and 1st in net rating.

Boston Celtics

Boston faces Atlanta, playing for the second straight night after defeating the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday. The C's won't have Jaylen Brown (hip) in this game, but they are 10-point favorites and should be able to handle the rebuilding Hawks squad.

Atlanta enters this game with the No. 28 defensive rating in the NBA, a problem against Boston's elite 3-point offense.

Oklahoma City Thunder

I just can't support the Orlando Magic right now with Paolo Banchero out.

They scored just 85 points in a huge loss on Sunday, and with Banchero out of the lineup they are now just 4-10 all-time.

The Thunder are now by far No. 1 in the league in defensive rating (95.1). The team closest to OKC is Golden State at 101.0, and the Thunder are also the No. 2 team in the league in net rating.

Orlando is just 2-5 against them so far this season, and even as a double-digit underdog I can't get behind that after seeing losses to Cleveland (11) and Dallas (23).
