Musk's pro-Trump PAC continues its $1 million voter gifts despite a reported Justice Department warning

Topline

Elon Musk's pro-Trump super PAC continued its daily $1 million prize giving to registered voters in swing states who agreed to sign a petition on Thursday, despite reports from the Justice Department warning that the prices may violate federal law.

Important facts

The Musk-backed America PAC announced on X that it donated $1 million on Thursday to a man from Wisconsin and another from Michigan.

The PAC's X account announced a winner of the million dollar prize each day from Saturday to Tuesday, but no winner was announced on Wednesday.

It's unclear whether either of the two winners announced Thursday was originally scheduled to receive their reward on Wednesday.

However, Wednesday's pause in announcements coincided with a report that America PAC was warned by the DOJ that the venture could be illegal.

Musk, who did not comment on the DOJ's alleged warning, also congratulated both winners on Thursday.
