NORTH TEXAS – Happy first day of fall!!!

I'm kidding, I'm kidding.

But the strong cold front overnight gave us a wonderfully cool morning in the 50s and a wonderfully sunny afternoon with highs in the 60s!

Just yesterday we had 93 degrees in the afternoon. Yikes.

Hopefully you enjoy the fresh fall air as it will be even cooler tomorrow morning.

Widespread highs in the 40s and probably 30s are expected.

Light winds and clear skies will result in effective radiative cooling across North Texas.

The air remains very dry, giving us another sunny day.

Temperatures will begin to warm tomorrow but remain at the seasonal average in the lower 70s.

We could use some rain, but things aren't looking good for the next seven days.

A cutoff low will remain to our northwest through the weekend and then move northeast as it moves through the Plains.

This means we will likely miss out on any useful rain.

The drought and low humidity will result in an increased fire risk through the end of the week.

Humidity will increase over the weekend, increasing the risk of fires.
