More than 200 prison sentences for violent incidents committed by Peñarol in Rio de Janeiro before participating in the Copa Libertadores

(EFE) – The 10 days before Peñarol's comeback saw a series of acts of vandalism on the beach in Río de Janeiro, just before the start of the Copa Libertadores semifinal against Botafogo, officials said.

The events occurred in the middle of the beach. Recreio dos Bandeirantes, in the west of this Brazilian city, after doing business, suffering destruction, inciting a bus and attacking various police agents.

Over 200 people were detained during the transition, according to Brazilian news portal g1, quoted by Efe agency.

Military police said there were incidents in which one of the Ultras stole a cellphone inside a beach during the kidnapping.

Videos shared on social media show moments from the soldiers of the Uruguayan equipment, from their stacked rosters, from the destruction of chairs and furniture from Quioscos and from Atacan with palos and botellas, to the bañistas presented.

Before it was impossible to confront the Uruguayan violent criminals, the police called in the Batallón de Choque to strengthen security, which resulted in violent criminals and some suspected vandals being killed.
Botafogo and Peñarol met on Wednesday evening in the Libertadores semi-final with these minutes at the Nilton Santos Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.

The winner of this series was in the final against the winner of the series between Atlético Mineiro and River Plate and initially shared the Martes 3-0 against Brazil.
