Missouri quarterback Brady Cook went to the locker room after suffering an apparent sack injury in the first quarter of a game Auburn.

Cook apparently sustained the injury without physical contact and went to the ground before the pass rush reached him, suffering a major loss in the process.

The Missouri starter then jogged off the field at about three-quarter speed, but did so before a third-down snap. He pretty much immediately went to the locker room injured.

The ESPN broadcast team calling the game noted that they were trying to get an update shortly and did so after just one series.

“It’s good news about Brady Cook,” ESPN said Taylor McGregor reported. “I was told it was an ankle injury. He went into the locker room. The ankle is currently being taped but it is expected he will return for this game.”

Brady Cook was 3-of-4 passing for 37 yards in the first quarter before his injury, while also rushing three times for a loss of six yards. Missouri led 3-0 midway through the first quarter after capping its first drive with a field goal.

If he is limited in competition, it would be a major setback for a Missouri offense that has already become somewhat unhinged in recent weeks.

Brady Cook is the team's leading passer and third-leading rusher. He completed 119 of 184 passes for 1,351 yards and seven touchdowns, with just one interception. He also rushed for 124 yards and four scores, proving to be a capable dual-threat in that role.

This season, Pyne has completed 19 of 22 passes for 128 yards without a touchdown or an interception.
