Mike Tyson, a well-known professional footballer, recently shed light on his physical and mental health struggles.

In an interview with Loaded Tyson revealed that he had undergone testosterone therapy and dismissed the misconceptions surrounding it.

The boxing icon shared that taking hormone therapy has improved his mental and physical health, adding: “There is a misconception that men take testosterone because there is something wrong with them physically.”

Expressing his thoughts, he said, “But after the age of 30, no matter how healthy you are, testosterone levels start to decline.”

Tyson explained that if this inadequate level of this hormone “affects more than just your physical condition, but also your mood,” emphasizing that “it should be just as normal for a man to be on a testosterone plan as he gets older.” Taking a daily nutritional supplement” because “It does so much to stabilize the body and mind.”

While discussing his mental health struggles, Tyson also revealed that he has used “better tools” to support his mental health after beating drug addiction.

“I still struggle with my mental health, but luckily I have better tools. I have learned a lot over the years as a former drug addict. I understand my triggers and why I sabotage myself,” he said.

Tyson admitted he feels “great” when he does a self-inventory and gets “honest” with himself.

“I think many people want to blame others for their problems, without realizing that they are part of their own story and that they can change their lives at any time. But that is only possible if you are honest with yourself and know how you got to where you are now,” he concluded.

It is pertinent to mention that after his last match in 2005, Tyson is preparing to compete again in 2024 despite health problems.
