In her newly released Amazon Prime documentary “Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words,” rapper Megan Thee Stallion admits that she misled journalist Gayle King about her relationship with rapper Tory Lanez in a 2022 interview .

As Megan reflects on her statement to King, she admits in the documentary that she was untruthful when she denied a sexual relationship with Lanez, who was convicted in 2022 for shooting Megan during an altercation in Los Angeles in 2020.

The documentary shows Megan saying, “Yes, I lied to Gayle King…we were supposed to talk about the shooting.” She explains her frustration at being asked about her relationship with Lanez rather than the shooting incident became.

During the original CBS Mornings interview, King asked Megan if she had a “sexual relationship” with Lanez, to which Megan initially hesitated before replying, “I did not have a sexual relationship with Tory.” Megan's answer drew public skepticism, and personalities like the rapper 50 Cent questioned her account.

Beyond personal revelations, Megan's documentary documents her career struggles, recent successes and the release of her new album, Megan: Act II. The documentary also looks at the recent legal action Megan has taken.

Megan recently filed a lawsuit in the Southern District of Florida against blogger Milagro Elizabeth Cooper, known online as Milagro Gramz, accusing Cooper of harassment, defamation and promoting a deepfake pornography video involving the rapper. The lawsuit alleges that Cooper regularly insulted Megan and spread misinformation about her, allegedly to “disparage, disparage, insult and spread false statements.”

The lawsuit also states that Cooper, who allegedly supports Lanez, called Megan a “lying whore” and promoted defamatory rumors. Megan's complaint alleges that this online harassment caused emotional distress and damaged her reputation.
