Mayor Tiffany Henyard expects to seek the arrest of opponents during the rambling Facebook Live rant

Dolton “Dictator” Mayor Tiffany Henyard hinted in a rambling social media tirade that she would seek the arrest of her opponents as her annoyed landlord described dealing with the under-fire politician facing eviction .

Henyard, of suburban Illinois, went on a nearly 90-minute tirade in a Facebook Live video Tuesday after a meeting of Thornton Township, which she also leads, was canceled because not enough board members showed up.

In the endless speech, the scandal-hit mayor defended herself against constant criticism of her handling of municipal business and finances and described dissenting officials as corrupt.

Dolton Mayor Tiffany Henyard suggested she would seek the arrest of her opponents in a rambling tirade on social media.

“I will be requesting the arrest of the individuals involved,” Henyard said. “I will file a complaint. It's a lot. And I'm telling you just a little bit, because all the finger-pointing at Tiffany – or the lying at me – I'm over it. Now it’s time for me to speak out, because I say: the truth speaks.”

The self-proclaimed super mayor did not elaborate on the allegations, which she would like to see resolved, but instead accused her opponents of “grabbing power and money,” WGN 9 reported.

She also promised to reveal the “full truth” about the controversies surrounding her at a later date.

Only one Thorntown trustee showed up to the canceled meeting Tuesday, along with Henyard, after Trustee Chris Gonzalez said he wouldn't go into the meeting room because the space was too small, the Chicago Tribune reported.

“I didn’t intend to put people in an unsafe environment,” Gonzalez told the newspaper. “I didn’t intend to make an argument out of it. I mean, it's exactly what should be done. It’s the right thing to do.”

Dolton and Henyard's trustees also disagreed over a specific meeting location, leading Henyard to file a failed lawsuit, WBS reported.

As the mayor faces divisions in the village and city, she is also facing possible eviction.

Owner Genetta Hull claimed Henyard and her boyfriend had not paid rent in full since August.

Hull leased her property to the politician, whom she once considered a friend, but the relationship soured in 2021, according to a report, when she felt pressure from Henyard to move into the house.

“And then she says, 'I heard you're renting out your house.' I said, 'Yeah, I have someone moving in soon,'” Hull told Fox 32.

“And she says, 'No, they can't move in because I want them to.' And I'm like, 'Excuse me?'”

She said after she increased the rent by $200 to $2,400 a month because of a summer property tax increase, Henyard's boyfriend said he couldn't afford it.

The couple did not pay full rent in August and did not pay rent in September, Hull claimed.

She also accused Henyard of changing the locks and code on the garage van to keep her out.

“If I push and go over with a locksmith and try to replace it, she'll probably have me arrested,” Hull told the station.

She filed an eviction notice in September but was unable to serve the papers on either Henyard or her significant other.

“At some point you have to realize that karma is going to catch up with you,” Hull told Fox 32 in a message to the mayor. “Just pay your rent.”

An attorney for Henyard previously told Fox 32 that the claims of unpaid rent were false.

Henyard is reportedly facing a federal investigation after both Dolton and Thorntown were hit with subpoenas earlier this year, along with other Democratic groups and associates.

Henyard, who is running for re-election, has denied any wrongdoing.
