Mark Fletcher Jr. honors his late father after scoring a touchdown against Duke

Miami led duke The score was 46-31 midway through the fourth quarter and the game seemed out of reach when they passed the ball to Mark Fletcher Jr., who scored the team's seventh touchdown of the day.

For the second year in a row, Fletcher was able to honor his late father, who predeceased him last week State of Florida game, with a touchdown. This time he fell to his knees and pointed to the sky in a moment his family won't soon forget.

The one-yard scoring frenzy was certainly a feel-good moment at Hard Rock Stadium.

Fletcher nearly became the team's leading rusher during the contest, rushing for 65 yards on 12 carries and scoring the only touchdown to cap Miami's win. He was behind another traffic jam Damien Martinezwho had 11 touchdowns for 66 yards.

Mark Fletcher also ran for 71 yards and another touchdown against the Seminoles, where he also pointed to the sky after suffering a knee injury during the contest.

“(It was) just a shout out to my dad to show him respect,” Fletcher Jr. said last week. “It's been a long time since he's seen hard rock this full. I know he would have loved that, the energy out here, all the seats were taken. I know he would have liked it. So I did that for him.”

The win improved Miami to 9-0 on the season, and with three games left in the season, an undefeated regular season appears to be a legitimate possibility.

Miami DB Jadais Richard was carted away during the Duke game

Miami defenseman Jadais Richard made a big play in the fourth quarter of Saturday's game against Duke. Unfortunately, he was also injured during the game.

Richard appeared to suffer a right leg injury after taking down Duke quarterback Maalik Murphy. He remained lying for several minutes before being helped to the sideline, unable to put any weight on his leg.

Jadais Richard was later brought from the sidelines on a cart.
