MacKinnon and Makar extend their streak, Avalanche leads Kraken to third straight win

Kiviranta made it 2-1 at 14:56 of the second minute by directing Makar's wrist shot from the right circle past Grubauer's glove.

“I think I’m just trying to find people,” Makar said of his points streak. “I try to be a bit of a facilitator and then obviously the guys find and put themselves in a good position.”

It was Kiviranta's third goal in two games.

“(Kiviranta) has been incredible all season,” Annunen said. “He’s doing his job, he’s been skating. … You can see it now, he scores a lot of goals.”

MacKinnon made it 3-1 with a power-play goal at 19:52 of the second, skated across the top of the left circle and sent a wrist shot against the grain past Grubauer's blocker.

Evans cut the lead to 3-2 with five seconds left in the game and scored a power play goal with a rebound in the left circle.

“We obviously took some penalties and then got back on our heels, and you can't do that against a power play like that,” McCann said.

NOTES: MacKinnon and Makar are the only players in the NHL to have a seven-game points streak entering the season so far this season. … Maker joined John-Michael Liles (nine games in the 2010-11 season) as the only defensemen in franchise history with an early-season points streak of at least seven games.
