Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic is often compared to LA Clippers star James Harden, particularly Harden's style of play with the Houston Rockets. Both Harden and Doncic, both high-level scorers and playmakers, also rely heavily on their three-man group, hence the comparisons.

Harden even seemed to acknowledge the similarities between himself and Doncic while speaking to reporters on media day.

“It’s definitely going to involve a lot of me,” Harden said of the new-look Clippers. “When I was in Houston there were rumors… 'You can't win like that.' You just saw a guy (Luka Doncic) reach the finals last season and play the same way I did.”

New Clippers forward Derrick Jones Jr. spent last season with the Mavericks, where he reached the NBA Finals alongside Doncic. When asked about the Harden-Doncic comparisons after practice on Tuesday, Jones pointed out some similarities.

“Your vision,” Jones said. “They both have a crazy vision. You can see the entire floor at any time. They can get to their spots whenever they want, get to the finish line as often as they want, and knock down any shot they want. Yes, there are similarities, but they are also two different basketball players. I’m glad I’m here.”

Jones, an elite lob receiver, already benefited from Harden's passing skills, much like he did alongside Doncic last season in Dallas.
