4-Warning forecast

Widespread thunderstorms are expected to develop across North and Central Texas throughout the day today. Severe weather, including damaging winds, tornadoes and hail, is possible. The greatest serious threat will occur generally along/east of I-35 this afternoon and evening.

The biggest concern is from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Metroplex.

There is a threat of tornadoes today – a higher risk for those in Oklahoma and along the Red River in northern counties. There is a lower risk of tornadoes elsewhere. The storms could also produce strong winds. Hail is secondary. These storms will not produce large areas of damaging hail.

We assume that the risk of storms will last at least until late in the evening. By midnight, everything will be east of our viewing area and into East Texas. Still, a little impulse will give us a few showers tomorrow, but nothing serious.

Forecast for election day

Today it was supposed to rain on 80 percent of the viewing area, but on Tuesday, election day, it will rain on about 30 percent.

Today will be in the upper 70s and humid. The closer we get to midday, the greater the risk of severe weather.

Tuesday, Election Day, will see morning showers giving way to sunshine and temperatures in the upper 60s and partly cloudy.

7 day forecast

The chance of thunderstorms will return to forecast levels on Thursday and continue into the weekend.
