The USC Trojans appeared poised for a rebound victory over Maryland after a heartbreaking loss to Penn State in Week 7.

Instead, the Mid-Atlantic region has fallen victim to the Trojans for the second year in a row.

USC led 21-7 at halftime but collapsed in the second half and lost to the Terrapins. Maryland had entered the game 0-3 in the Big 10 and had narrowly lost to Northwestern the week before.

Miller Moss was solid statistically, going 34 of 50 for 336 yards with three touchdowns and one interception, but the offense failed to score on its final three drives, allowing Maryland to claw its way back into the game.

Fans took to social media to slam the Trojans and head coach Lincoln Riley, declaring that the team was not ready for the Big 10.

I thought that #USC The team was unlucky.
I was wrong. This USC team is just mentally weak. There is no other way to describe it.

With the loss, USC drops to 3-4 and 1-4 in the conference. The team is in danger of falling out of bowl contention and has now lost three games in a row.

The schedule doesn't appear to be getting any easier going forward, as four of the five remaining games come against teams currently over .500, with a matchup against No. 12 Notre Dame looking particularly daunting at the end of the season.

If USC isn't able to turn the page around soon, Riley's tenure could end with the program quickly coming to an end.
