Lady Gaga announces new single “Disease”.

Lady Gaga has the cure for her “illness.” The Joker: Folie à Deux Star appeared to signal the start of her next era over the weekend, as several teasers suggested that the first single from Gaga's upcoming, as-yet-untitled seventh studio album is imminent. Although Gaga had not revealed any official details about the song on her social media as of press time, a handful of Easter eggs hinting at the singer's successor hatched, much to her surprise joker-inspired harlequin Jazz album.

The first option was a pre-save option from their parent label Universal, which meant the song could be downloaded on Spotify or Apple Music when it was released on Friday (October 25). The page displays the title of the song backwards.

Additionally, eagle-eyed fans noticed that a new 11-song playlist posted to Gaga's Spotify page last week contained an acrostic reference, with the first four songs (“Government Hooker,” “Always Remember Us This Way,” ” GUY” and “Americano”) spell GAGA and the next seven spell “disease” in lower case.

Little monsters can also click on gagadisease.com, where the words “I could play the doctor” flash on a black background, as well as icouldplaythedoctor.com, where a similar flashing message can be seen that reads “I can cure your illness.” If you continue down the rabbit hole and enter each new phrase as a URL, you'll find additional lyrics, including: “If you were a sinner/I could make you believe/Lay down like 1, 2, 3/Eyes roll back.” in ecstasy / I can smell your illness / I can heal you / Heal your illness. The final image will take you back to the universal pre-save page.

Gaga has already confirmed that her upcoming pop album will be released in February and that the first single will be released later this month. For now that is harlequin The album earned Gaga her third No. 1 on the Billboard jazz charts, while her collaboration with Bruno Mars, “Die With a Smile,” landed just its seventh week at the top of the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. US charts.
