Knicks guard Josh Hart wants the NBA to drug test the Boston Celtics

There's only one explanation for the Boston Celtics' embarrassing loss to the New York Knicks on Tuesday night: performance-enhancing drugs.

At least that's Knicks guard Josh Hart's intention.

While many in the NBA world predicted that the Celtics would start the season somewhat sluggish after winning the title, Boston went out on fire against a new-look New York team.

While the Knicks held on through the first half of the first quarter, the Celtics quickly slammed the door shut and took a 43-24 lead at the end of the first frame. Jayson Tatum was a problem for the Knicks all night as he scored 37 points while going 14 of 18 from the floor, while Derrick White and Jaylen Brown scored 24 and 23 points, respectively.

The game's most astounding tally, however, was the Celtics' 61 three-point attempts. Shooting 61 times from beyond the arc every night isn't going to lead to much success in the long run, but if you make 29 of the 61 shots like Boston did on Tuesday night, they'll have a hard time finding a team to beat can.

Hart sat in the front row to witness the Celtics' three-point barrage, and when asked after the game whether Boston did anything specific to get so many good looks from deep, he took the lighthearted approach and jokingly urged the NBA to drug test the Boston team.

“I don't know it. The NBA has to drug test them all. I’ll tell you right now,” Hart said SNY. “I've never seen anything like this before. They played extremely well, we'll take a look at that. We’ll learn from this and look at some of the defensive missteps we had.”

The Knicks simply walked into a buzz saw on Tuesday night.

The Celtics led the league in three-point attempts (42.5) per game last season, but no one could have predicted there would be 61 three-point attempts in the season opener, and they certainly didn't see them hit 29 deep balls like that in their first game of the season opening win.
