Karva Chauth 2024 Vrat Katha

The most famous story of Karva Chauth revolves around a queen named Veeravati. Once upon a time, Veeravati was the only sister of seven loving brothers. She was married to a handsome and noble king and returned to her parental home to observe the fast on her first Karva Chauth after marriage. As a young woman, she was not used to fasting and became increasingly weaker as the day went on.

Her brothers were deeply concerned about her deteriorating condition and tried to persuade her to eat, but Veeravati was determined to end her fast so that her husband would live long. As the day passed and Veeravati grew weaker, her brothers hatched a plan.

They climbed a tree and placed a mirror on one of its branches that reflected the light of the sun. They convinced Veeravati that the moon had risen and allowed her to break her fast. Veeravati believed them, broke her fast and ate.

But no sooner had she eaten than she received the heartbreaking news that her husband, the king, had died. Devastated, Veeravati prayed to the Goddess with great sadness and remorse. Moved by her devotion and guilt, the goddess granted her the gift of bringing her husband back to life.

She was instructed to observe Karva Chauth fast again with complete devotion and this time she did so without breaking it. Her husband's life was restored and they lived happily ever after. This story highlights the power of a woman's devotion and the deep connection between faith and the well-being of one's spouse.
