Kamala Harris hosts her biggest event yet with Beyoncé and Willie Nelson in Texas

As it was the largest event Vice President Kamala Harris has held since she ran for president, Harris gathered hundreds of supporters and the likes of Willie Nelson and Beyoncè Knowles-Carter at her Friday night rally in Houston, Texas.

Although there were rumors that Beyoncè would attend this rally, it still sent the stadium into a frenzy when she took the stage with Kelly Rowland, her former Destiny's Child groupmate.

During Harris' campaign, she used Beyoncè's song “Freedom” as the walkout song and overall anthem of her presidential campaign.

Beyoncè did not perform at this rally, unlike Willie Nelson, who took the stage earlier in the night and sang “Mammas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys” and “On the Road Again.”

After taking the stage, Beyoncé said that she was there neither as an entertainer nor as a politician, but rather as a mother.

“Imagine our daughters growing up and seeing what is possible, with no ceilings and no restrictions,” she said. “My children and all our children, we have the freedom to control our bodies, a world in which we are not divided.”

Introducing Harris, she said, “It’s time for America to sing a new song. Our voices sing a choir of unity. They sing a song of dignity and possibility. Are you all ready to contribute your voices to the new American song?”

The focus of this rally was reproductive rights, something Harris has emphasized throughout her presidential campaign.

Former President Donald Trump was also in Texas on Friday, where he recorded a three-hour podcast episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience” in which he covered a range of topics.

After the recording, Trump headed to his rally in Traverse City, Michigan, where he mentioned in his speech that Harris was “hosting a dance party with Beyoncè.”

In early October, Harris recorded a podcast episode on “Call Her Daddy” that discussed reproductive rights and abortion access.

As the election approaches, both parties are urging voters to cast their ballots earlier as both campaigns come to an end.
