Joy Behar reveals strangely strict rules for houseguests

Joy Behar has made it clear that she is not running The White Lotus, or any other type of hotel, motel or Airbnb.

The view The co-host explained the surprising list of guidelines for those wanting to visit her home, which previously included a 24-hour time limit, on Thursday's episode of the ABC talk show Behind the table Podcast.

“I like (house guests), but for a limited time,” Behar told podcast host Brian Teta when asked if people could stay over at her house. “I used to have a 24-hour rule that I told people,” she admitted, revealing the current, no-nonsense rules coming her way.

“Before I could even afford a housekeeper, but I had this little house somewhere, I would say bring your own linens and towels and bring them home because I don't do your laundry,” she recounted, referring to Apparently friends stay in their second home.

Another rule is setting a specific check-out time: “I'm strict and have no problem saying: 'So you come on Friday and leave on Sunday, right?'”

Podcast host Teta suggested that she is able to be so open because that is her style in public and beyond The viewwhich Behar disagreed with and insisted that was just how she was.

“Not because I'm Joy Behar, but because it's the truth!” she said. “Do you think anyone would want to live with this kind of ambiguity? When should I go? Do you want me here?” Teta wondered if she could make it easier for herself to have a hard time, but Behar said that attitude was “not for me.”

Luckily, she uses a bit of tact when she wants visitors to get out of the way: “There are different ways to put it. “When does the bus leave?” for example,” she joked (emphasis: a little).

Finally, don't expect Behar to pull out all the stops while he stays over there. “Besides, I don’t particularly feel like cooking for a lot of people. I don’t run an Airbnb, okay?”

While Behar's rules may seem a little excessive, who can't understand why a father-in-law, a college friend, or a second cousin stays longer than agreed?

Meanwhile, Friday's (October 4) episode of The View marked Behar's 81st birthday. Although she declined to reveal the exact number, her co-hosts didn't let the big day go unnoticed and hired a pizza delivery stripper to dance it on air.

Nathan Lane came on the show to talk about Netflix Monsters: The Story of Lyle and Erik Menendez and give the show program a little birthday treat.

“Because Joy is still a hot Italian, I ordered Joy a hot Italian pizza,” he explained. This was no ordinary pizza delivery guy. Instead, a burly guy came and excitedly threw his pizza box across the stage, ripped off his shirt and danced a-la Magic Mike for several minutes while Behar and her friends laughed at the table.
