Jesse Watters tells his wife that secretly voting for Kamala Harris would be an “affair.”

said Fox News host Jesse Watters during a segment of The five that if his wife secretly voted for Vice President Kamala Harris, it would be “like an affair.”

The panel discussed a recent Harris campaign by actress Jessica Roberts suggesting women vote for the vice president without telling their Trump-supporting husbands.

Watters admitted in 2018 that his relationship with now-wife Emma DiGiovine began as an affair during his first marriage. Accordingly, DiGiovine was the producer of his show at the time Mediait. The affair led to Watters' first wife filing for divorce.

“If I found out that Emma went to the voting booth and pulled the lever for Harris, that would be the same as having an affair,” Watters told the rest of the jury. “This violates the sanctity of our marriage. What else is she hiding from me? What is she lying about?”

“Why would she lie to you?” asked fellow panelist Jeanine Pirro.

“Why would she do that and vote for Harris? Why would she say she voted? If I caught her and she said, 'I've been lying to you for the last four years,'” he added.

“It's over, Emma!” Watters said in a mocking tone. “That would be D-Day!”

The ad, produced by Christian-backed political group Vote Common Good, drew backlash online from conservative voters and pundits who claim it encourages people to lie to their partners.

During an appearance on Megyn Kelly's SiriusXM show, right-wing commentator and activist Charlie Kirk said Harris “needs people basically lying to their husbands about what they're advertising… I find the whole ad campaign so disgusting. “It's so disastrous. .. It is the embodiment of the downfall of the American family.”

“I find it so disgusting. I just find it disgusting that this woman wears the American hat. She comes with her sweet husband who probably goes out of his way to make sure she can… have a good life and provide for the family,” he added.

“And then she lies to him and says, 'Oh yeah, I'll vote for Trump.' And then she votes for Kamala Harris in the voting booth as her little secret. “Kamala Harris and her team believe there will be millions of women who undermine their husbands in ways not evident in the polls.”

Vote Common Good, a nonprofit that encourages people of faith to vote with a clear conscience, defended the ad.

“People know how much pressure there is on voters, not just women,” said Executive Director Doug Pagitt. “There is so much pressure, especially in the religious community, that someone cannot break away from it.”

The controversy surrounding the ad comes as former President Donald Trump said he would “protect” women whether they “like it or not.”

“I said, 'Well, I'm going to do it whether the women like it or not,'” Trump said Wednesday night in Wisconsin. “I will protect her.”
