“It’s time to sing a new song”

Less than two weeks before Election Day, Beyoncé took the stage at Vice President Kamala Harris' rally in her hometown of Houston, Texas on Friday (October 25).

Dating former Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland, the Cowboy Carter The artist gracefully entered the room to give a public speech at the event and officially endorse the Harris-Walz ticket.

Beyoncé began her speech with an enthusiastic “H-Town,” sending the crowd even further into an ecstatic frenzy. “We are so happy to stand here on this stage and be proud women from the country of Texas supporting and celebrating the one and only Vice President Kamala Harris,” she began. “A woman who stands up for what this country really needs right now: unity. It's impossible not to feel the energy in this space. The positivity, the community, the humanity. We are on the precipice of incredible change. The Edge of History.”

Delivering her speech with genuine joy and zeal, the Grammy Award-winning artist said, “I am not here as a celebrity. I'm not here as a politician. I am here as a mother. A mother who cares deeply about the world in which my children and all our children live. A world where we have the freedom to control our bodies. A world in which we are not divided. Our past, our present, our future merge and meet here.”

“Imagine our daughters growing up and seeing what is possible without blankets. No restrictions. Imagine our grandmothers… imagine what they are feeling right now. Those who lived to see this historic day. Even those who are no longer with us physically imagine all their sacrifices. The sacrifices that were made so that we could witness the strength of a woman in her power,” she added.

She continued with a powerful call to action to all rally participants and viewers around the world, affirming that the fundamental right to vote is “one of the most valuable tools.”

Beyoncé gave a special greeting to various regions of Texas, emphasizing that it was time to “sing a new song.” She concluded her remarks by saying, “The song that began 248 years ago. The old sounds of doom, discord and despair no longer resonate. Our generations of loved ones before us whisper a prophecy, a quest, a calling, a hymn. Our moment is right now. It's time for America to sing a new song. Our voices sing a song of unity. They sing a song of dignity and possibility. Are you all ready to add your voice to the new American song? Because it's me. So let's do this! Ladies and gentlemen, please extend a warm welcome to the next President of the United States, Vice President Kamala Harris, to Texas.”

Beyoncé's 2016 track “Freedom” launched Kamala Harris' campaign as the vice president announced her run for president. There were already rumors that the musician would perform at the Democratic National Convention in August, but many were disappointed when she didn't attend.

The “Texas Hold 'Em” artist is the latest musician to support Harris. Taylor Swift, Charli XCX, John Legend, Megan Thee Stallion, Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Cardi B and Olivia Rodrigo are some of the musicians who have been vocal in their support for Harris. Election day is Tuesday, November 5th.
