    Nicole Scherzinger, who played a big role in the formation of One Direction The X Factor BritainHe pays tribute to Liam Payne after his death.

    In a new social media post, Scherzinger explains that he is currently starring on Broadway Sunset Blvd.wrote a letter to Payne in honor of his memory.

    “Dear Liam, I will forever cherish and cherish the time we spent together, from fifteen years ago when One Direction was born to just a few weeks ago,” Scherzinger wrote.

    She continued, “It was such a blessing to work with you recently. We shared the same love and passion for music and I will always remember the meaningful and joyful conversations we had.”

    Scherzinger said: “It is so hard to process that you are no longer here, but I am grateful to have known your kind heart, sweet soul and character.”

    “You brought so much joy, light and laughter into the lives of those who truly knew you. I will “miss” you, my friend, and carry you in my heart. My thoughts and prayers are with your family,” she concluded.

    Scherzinger was a guest juror The X Factor Britain During the season, One Direction was formed. Payne was one of the guys who auditioned to be a solo artist, but was on the verge of being cut from the band after the boot camp phase.

    However, Scherzinger, Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh saw the potential of the five boys who formed One Direction and garnered support during their time on the ITV reality competition.

    “Let's make an imaginary boy band instead of just saying 'no,'” Scherzinger said on the show.

    The trio went through the potential singers and divided them into groups. Cameras captured the moment the group was put together, first Niall Horan, followed by Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson.

    “They’re the cutest boy band ever,” Scherzinger is heard saying when One Direction was born. “The little girls will love them.”

    Scherzinger said you “can’t get rid of little stars” because he recognized their potential. The former Eden's Crush and Pussycat Dolls singer also recalled that “there were some cute guys” who could also be added to what would later become One Direction. At this point, Liam Payne's photo was added to the group.

    Cowell suggested that Payne join another group, but Scherzinger remarked, “I don't think so. I think he would definitely shine. He could actually be the leader.”
