Over the past few weeks, the OKC Thunder have been rocked by terrible injury news.

First, it was Kenrich Williams' decision to undergo surgery to perform arthroscopic debridement on his right knee. Then there were the injuries to big men Jaylin Williams (hamstring) and Isaiah Hartenstein (hand) that were too close together.

Most recently, the threat of injury has been felt by Jalen Williams, one of the core talents of Oklahoma City's trio, who suffered an ankle injury in the team's preseason finale against the Atlanta Hawks last week.

As a result, there have been serious concerns in recent days as to whether this title-hopping Thunder team would be able to head into its opening game against the Denver Nuggets without all four of those key rotation players in tow.

Fortunately, however, recent updates seem to indicate that OKC may finally be getting some good news when it comes to widespread health complaints, particularly related to J-Dub.

On Wednesday, the NBA officially released the injury reports for Oklahoma City's opening game against the Denver Nuggets. While Hartenstein, J-Will and Kenrich Williams were all listed and ruled out of the competition, Jalen Williams wasn't the only one there, much to the delight of fans not classified in the same category, but he wasn't even found on the list.

This is a huge change for the Thunder, as they will need as many helping hands as possible to slow down Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets and ultimately start the 2024-25 season 1-0.

Williams is entering the third year of his professional career after bursting onto the scene as a bona fide young stud last season.

In 71 games played, the 23-year-old achieved sensational new career highs in almost all areas with averages of 19.1 points, 4.5 assists and 4.0 rebounds, while recording a shooting rate of 54.0 percent from distance and 42.7 percent achieved.

Now that he's approaching his junior year in the league, many expect the Santa Clara product to become a star and take on the role of second-in-command behind boss Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Based on the buzz in training camp and his preseason performance, it appears he is well on his way to doing just that.

Thursday's season opener between OKC and Denver is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. CT and will be broadcast nationally on TNT.
