The Minnesota Timberwolves will return to action on Monday night at home against the Charlotte Hornets. After losing to the Spurs in San Antonio on Saturday, the Timberwolves will look to get back on track against their Eastern Conference opponents at Target Center.

It's no secret that Minnesota has had some issues against Charlotte in recent years. The Hornets currently hold a 6-2 record against the Wolves since the start of the 2020-21 season, picking up victory in the last game between these two teams. Many remember the January 2024 contest as Karl-Anthony Towns scored 62 points, but Minnesota went home with a loss.

One of the main reasons the Timberwolves team accomplished so much last year was because they consistently took care of business against less talented teams. That's the hallmark of a great team and a win on Monday would be hugely important for getting back into this category. Of course, the availability of the Hornets' Brandon Miller will play a big role in the outcome of this game.

Charlotte was struggling early this season, and it started when Brandon Miller went down with a glute strain in the first half of their first game against Houston. He would miss the team's next four games before returning on Saturday against the Boston Celtics.

As of this writing, Miller is listed as questionable on the Hornets' injury report due to his injury management. If he were to miss Monday, it would significantly simplify Charlotte's offensive approach. Should he be in the starting lineup again, the Timberwolves will have a bigger task controlling the Hornets' point lead.

Rudy Gobert is the first significant name to be added to the Timberwolves' injury report this season, and it is questionable whether he is suffering from a left ankle sprain. Jaylen Clark, Jesse Edwards and Leonard Miller are all out due to G League commitments.

Aside from Miller, whose playing time is questionable, Hornets starting center Mark Williams is also out with a left foot injury. DaQuan Jeffries (right hand) is out, as is Charlotte's backup center Nick Richards (right shoulder).
