IDF invades Syria and seizes Syrian national IRGC agent – ​​Israel News

The military said on Sunday that the IDF attacked southern Syria several months ago and captured a Syrian citizen believed to have operated Iranian terror networks in the region.

Ali Soleiman al-Assi, a Syrian citizen, lives in the Saida area in southern Syria.

His duties included gathering intelligence on IDF troops in the border area for the network's future terrorist activities.

He had been under surveillance by the IDF for some time and was arrested and transferred to Israel for interrogation.

The IDF said the raid directly prevented future attacks and exposed an Iranian terror network operating from Syria.

The IDF raids continue

This update comes just days after the IDF invaded Lebanon and captured Hezbollah commander Emad Fadel Amhaz.

During this raid, members of Israel's elite commando unit Shayetet 13 broke into a residential building where Amhaz lived.

The operation lasted four minutes and took place in the northern Lebanese town of Batroun, about 140 kilometers from the Israeli border.
