    The Kansas City team travels to San Francisco for the first head-to-head meeting between the two teams since Super Bowl LVIII in February, when the Chiefs defeated the 49ers 25-22 in overtime. The Chiefs continued to be successful in the new season and remained undefeated with a record of 5-0. The 49ers, on the other hand, got off to a rocky start with a 3-3 season record and several injuries on the roster.

    The Chiefs are coming off their BYE week, while the 49ers are fresh off a win against the Seattle Seahawks on October 10th, giving both teams over a week since their last game. The Chiefs lead the AFC West and the 49ers lead the NFC West. The Chiefs will most likely retain their ranking even if they lose, but another loss by the 49ers could see them swap spots with the Seahawks, depending on how the Seattle team plays this weekend.
