    It wasn't the best start to the season for the Detroit Red Wings. But with 79 games left, there's still plenty of time to find out.

    That begins Thursday with the Red Wings' second straight game against the New York Rangers after the Wings were completely outgunned on special teams in a 4-1 loss Monday at Madison Square Garden.

    Red Wings coach Derek Lalonde said his team played a pretty good game on the road against the Rangers, but that they still didn't lose anything because they weren't able to capitalize on their chances, especially on the power play to use.

    The Wings were just 1 for 11 on power play chances through their first three games, which played a big part in their losses to the Pittsburgh Penguins and Rangers. As the Wings try to resolve their man-advantage issues, Lalonde said the team is considering some lineup changes, including using Erik Gustafsson on the power play after he was a healthy backup in the second and third games of the season.
