How to Watch 2024-25 Celtics Games With and Without Cable: Complete Streaming Guide

The NBA champion Boston Celtics are almost back. After a successful preseason, they will open their 2024-25 schedule against the New York Knicks on opening night (Tuesday, October 15). Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and the rest of the regular rotation players are all back in town and ready to compete for a second straight championship.

For fans who want to tune in and watch Boston's title defense, there are plenty of ways to watch, especially considering how often the Celtics will be on national television throughout the year. But don't worry, local fans also have plenty to choose from.

Here's how to watch the Celtics in the 2024-25 season.

Local broadcasts

For games streamed on the local broadcast, see NBC Sports Boston. Drew Carter will serve as play-by-play announcer for all games this season, along with color commentator Brian Scalabrine. Last season was Mike Gorman's last with the Celtics after a Hall of Fame career.

National broadcasts

As the reigning champions, the Celtics will be on national television a lot this year. Their 34 nationally televised games rank third behind the Los Angeles Lakers (39) and Golden State Warriors (36).

These games include eleven on ESPN, ten on TNT, eight on NBA TV* and five on ABC.

*NBA TV games can be viewed on NBC Sports Boston for fans in the local market.

FuboTV

NBC Sports Boston is available on FuboTV for local fans, and ESPN, ABC and NBA TV are available for everyone. This means that the only Celtics games that would not be available on the platform are those broadcast on TNT.

Prices start at $79.99 per month. There is currently an offer with $20 off your first month.

Hulu + Live TV

Almost all of the networks that will be broadcasting the Celtics this year can be found on Hulu + Live TV: NBC Sports Boston (local only), ESPN, ABC and TNT. NBA TV games are not available on Hulu + Live TV, but local fans can watch these games on NBC Sports Boston.

Pricing starts at $76.99 per month (and $79.99 without ads).*

*Price increases to $82.99/month (with ads) and $95.99/month (without ads) on October 17th.

YouTube TV

All the channels you need to watch the Celtics are available on YouTube TV: NBC Sports Boston (local only), ESPN, TNT, ABC and NBA TV.

Prices start at $72.99 per month.

DirectTV stream

NBC Sports Boston (local only), ESPN, TNT and ABC are all available on DirectTV Stream. NBA TV is also available, but only in the three more expensive of the four plans offered.

Prices start at $101.98 per month ($114.99 including NBA TV). There is currently a $15 discount offer for the first two months.

Sling TV

Sling TV only offers national channels, meaning it can be used to watch Celtics games on ESPN, ABC, and TNT. NBA TV can be added with an add-on package.

Prices start at $40 per month. There is a half discount for the first month.

NBA League Pass

Out-of-market fans can watch Celtics games that are not nationally televised with NBA League Pass. For national games (ESPN, TNT, etc.) they must purchase cable or a streaming option.

A single team pass can be purchased for $13.99 per month. The full NBA League Pass can be purchased for $16.99 per month. There's also a premium option for $24.99 per month, which offers ad-free viewing and the ability to watch on two devices at the same time.

A season subscription to NBA League Pass costs $99.99.

NBA TV

For the eight Celtics games on NBA TV, a standalone NBA TV subscription could be an option.

NBA TV can be purchased for $6.99 per month or $59.99 per year. (NBA TV is included with NBA League Pass).

Boston is looking to repeat its title after dominating the NBA last season en route to Banner 18. And they will do so with a nearly identical roster.

Brad Stevens extended Jayson Tatum, Derrick White and Sam Hauser, meaning almost everyone on his roster will be back on the roster for the 2024 NBA Championship.

With a projected starting lineup of White, Jrue Holiday, Brown, Tatum and Kristaps Porzingis (if healthy), the Celtics are a top title contender again this year.
